Babies Poop The Weirdest Ways

I started to train Baby to poop inside the potty when she was about 15 months. For many months, she was able to poo poo inside the potty at around the same time every morning without much fuss and problem. Recently, she has become very constipated and would only poo poo once every 2 days (which is not good coz constipation may lead to UTI). Not only is she constipated, she is also resisting to poo poo in the potty. Each time she shows signs of wanting to poo (by straining), we would rush to bring out the potty but I guess the poop sort of went back in (LOL!!) each time she sees the potty. She would also say "no, no, do wan" when we bring the potty out.

Instead, she prefers to poo poo in her diaper and she has a really weird way of straining the poop out too... as shown in pic below. I guess the hard poop is hurting her and she has to find a comfortable way of pushing the poop out LOL!!

LOL!! Like that also can? Maine is also in the 'refuse potty' mode. Just like Baby C, she would arch her back and make a big fuss out of it...

I know force wouldn't work. My no.1 also prefer to poo in diapers for a while after successful train to poo in potty. Don't know how the poo can went back in.. haha

With no.2, I'll put her in potty when I see signs. I use the smaller add-on potty on top of our big one. But sometimes, she prefers to poo while standing in the bathroom, I have to pick up her poo one by one and flush them in the toilet... yuck....

i gave up forcing with rye li and allowed her to poo in her diapers till she was just over 3 yrs. she also had constipation issues when she was just over a year old and it got quite bad (bleeding) and i had 2 use laxatives for over a yr. glad to say that she's fine now, haven't used laxatives on her for over a year and she happily poos in the big throne now. guess with time, they will learn how to eventually so no need to crack your head how to potty train them (of course, i think the daycare's influence also play some role for rye li but she was the last in her batch to poo in the potty).

That pic is hilarious! Definitely a keeper and one to display at the most embarrassing of moments like her first date! Abt the constipation...try giving her a spoonful of prune juice(Heinz carries the kid version in a small jar, or just get the regular adult size). Even dried prunes..soak in some juice to plump up and mince it up with yogurt or ice-cream to make more palatable. We used to have it with Miracle Whip, a nondairy whip "cream"...yummy! Some people swear by figs but I didn't notice anything different.

I've tried all sorts of fruits - papaya, red dragon fruits, prune juice, green tea but none really worked. You know what worked? Psyllium husk! That's my own saviour too. I take that every morning w/o fail. I gave Baby 1/2 a teaspoon and mixed it with her food.
